Snoopervising the Great Rhubarb Harvest

Today, Dad harvested all the rhubarb we had growing at the side of the house.  He's done this because the man from round the corner with the dogs told him that after the end of this month, it turns poisonous, which doesn't sound very good at all.  Anyway, the plan was we'd cut it all down, trim it, and then freeze it so he can eat it later.  Cat's don't really like rhubarb, but I helped anyway.

This is Champagne Rhubarb, which doesn't grow as big and thick as some of the other varieties, apparently.  I'm keeping a close watch to make sure he does it right.

Mum got me to pose - I'm getting good at that.  Don't worry Mum, I'll make sure it's done properly.

We had to stop for a bit cos we found a snail.

But Dad took that off me cos it was a bit slimey!!

After that, I kept a close eye to make sure there wasn't anything else lurking.  Of course, there was, a little green caterpillar.

It was quite cute, and curled up when I poked it.  Shame there's no video, as it was a bit wriggly!

It wasn't keen to do very much after I tried to play with it.  Look Dad!!

I'm a big fat ginger lost in a pile of rhubarb cat.

  1. Shame on that caterpillar for not wanting to play with you - he needed a good a good poke for being unfriendly.

  3. Oh, Mommy is all jealous thinking of fresh rhubarb pie! Puss, you did a fab job snoopervising the harvest. We think your Dad probably never would have gotten it done without your help.

  7. Puss, you are a big helper. How is your dad going to cook that rhubarb? I hear about people eating it, but I've never tried it.
